The delegation which is made of college students and graduate students from Michigan university participated events held in several places in Japan to promote comprehension to Japan through visiting historical places and cultural heritage and experiencing living with local families.
The group consisted of 36 students and graduate students, 13 boys and 23 girls came to Japan on May 18 to visit several places Japan including Ogaki city.
GWY sponsored activities in May 19 to 21. On May 19 they tried making Japanese sweet, learned about the process of producing Japanese sake, experience tea ceremony and watched Iaido. After that they paid a courtesy call to Ogaki mayor . On May 20 they lived with local families from several places in Gifu. On 21 the cultural exchange gathering was held at Ogaki Forum Hotel where learned how to put on kimono properly and sang American songs. The event provided an opportunity to boost friendship between Americans and home stay families.
