International Understanding program with the international students studying at Gifu University as one of projects held by GWY
GWY invited five students from Pakistan, Kenia, Poland to hold.an exchange activity with the international students of Gifu university on January 30th in 2024 as one of international understanding lectures. The students from Gifu university enjoyed intimate exchange activity with the students of Nisshin elementary school in Ogaki city. On that day they watched students’ performance of playing cup and ball and monocycles. Elementary school children divided into several groups including one international student in each of them showed them sight spots in Ogaki city by using tablet. They also visited Toki elementary school which is set to close this year to enjoy school lunch with the students there. The school is located in Kamiisizu town and has a history of 150 years. In the school district decrease in population is progressing forcing grades put together. One junior high school and four elementary schools (tara, toki, Ichinose, makita) are scheduled to be integrated into one new compulsory school. The school will be built on the site of current Kamiisizu junior high school and open in 2024. Members of GWY and five international students of Gifu university paid a visit to Toki elementary school to learn the countries they came from and areas surrounding the school.
