“The evening of Italian songs and opera “was held to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Italy and Japan diplomatic relations.
The GWY held the concert to commemorate the anniversary at Ogaki city Suitopia music hall inviting Kazuko Usui, opera singer living in Florence and Francesca Maggini, the pianist. Kazuko Usui moved to Italy in 1977 and won the championship at Opera Barga international contest held in 1980. Since then she played her performances in various countries in Europe and reached her 35th anniversary in 2016. The concert in Ogaki was held for the first time in 14 years, the last one was held at Salamanca Hall in 2002. This year’s concert was made up of gorgeous program including Italian aria and Japanese songs. A lot of audience stood in line and filled almost all the seats. Ms.Usui’s voice which echoed the hall with of Italian and Japanese songs fascinated the audience.
